NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — It's been more than a week since Boon Street Market opened its doors and welcomed guests in for the first time.

Now, the Narragansett restaurant is coming to the aid of the beloved TwoTen Oyster Bar & Grill, which was ravaged by fire earlier this month.

Boon Street Market hosted its first industry night Monday, of which 100% of the proceeds will be donated directly to TwoTen Oyster Bar's staff.

"It's going to make sure the staff gets taken care of and it just goes to show everyone is willing to help out," said Jan Lugo, general manager of TwoTen Oyster Bar .

Eric Knott, a bartender at Boon Street Market who worked at TwoTen Oyster Bar for more than seven years, told 12 News that he's grateful he has a new job where he can not only support himself, but his former coworkers as well.

"The support means the world a million times over," Knott said. "This is something that's going to put food on people's tables help people pay rent."

"It's so heartwarming and it brings a tear to my eye," added Joy Lewis, a part-time manager at TwoTen Oyster Bar.

The South Kingstown restaurant has been closed since June 4, when an early morning fire tore through the building. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.

It's unclear when TwoTen Oyster Bar will be back open.

Those who couldn't make it to Boon Street Market Monday night but still want to donate can do so online.
