NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) -- Narragansett Police said they arrested seven people, including one juvenile, following a large fight outside of the Block Island Ferry Docks on Saturday night.
According to a release from Narragansett Police Chief Sean Corrigan, around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, police were called to 304 Great Island Road for a "report of 20-30 individuals actively fighting."
The first officer to arrive on scene immediately called for backup. When they arrived, the other officers witnessed a large group of individuals fighting each other.
As police were trying to put people into custody, several people began "interfering and were given warnings to stand back or they would be arrested for obstructing."
Police arrested seven people at the scene, and two were transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of injuries they received during the fight.
Those arrested include the following
Maneul Pina, 42, of Brockton, Mass., charged with:
- Felony Assault
- Resisting Arrest
- Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty
- Disorderly Conduct
Gilda Antunes, 28, of Brockton, Mass., charged with:
- Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty
Elsa Lopes, 31, of Brockton, Mass., charged with:
- Simple Assault
- Resisting Arrest
- Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty
- Disorderly Conduct
Henry Lopes Jr., 32, Providence, charged with:
- Disorderly Conduct.
Victor Manuel Gomes Depina, 39, of Brockton, Mass., charged with:
- Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty
- Disorderly Conduct
Michael Gomes Lopes, 36, oLd Brockton, Mass., charged with:
- Resisting Arrest
- Disorderly Conduct
A 16 unidentified juvenile was charged with, charged with:
- Simple Assault
- Disorderly Conduct
12 News has reached out to the Block Island Ferry for comment, but has not received a response at this time.
All if the suspects are expected to be arraigned in 4th Division District Court on Monday.
