WESTERLY, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Westerly man was allegedly stabbed by his son on Sunday, according to police.

Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella told 12 News that the son is accused of stabbing his father
"unprovoked" at an apartment complex off Granite Street.

Police added that this appeared to be a mental health issue. Authorities said that the people involved are expected to recover.
