NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — A water main break caused discolored water in the Narragansett Point Judith Water System on Thursday morning.
According to the town, a contractor working at Rhode Island DEM’s Roger Wheeler State Beach caused the water main failure, disturbing sediment and discoloring the water.
Crews from the town’s Water Division are flushing hydrants to clear the system. Residents may experience discolored water and lower-than-usual water pressure.
Anyone with dirty water should turn off their tap immediately. Once flushing is complete, residents can run a cold water faucet until it clears.
