NORWICH, Conn. (WPRI) — Connecticut State Police troopers arrested a Westerly man accused of driving the wrong way down I-395 in Norwich over the weekend.

John Turo, 22, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.
Troopers were called to I-395 South near Exit 11 early Saturday morning to investigate reports of a wrong-way driver, according to police.
The troopers spotted a vehicle pulled over on I-395 South facing north and approached to speak with the driver, later identified as Turo.
Police said Turo's speech was "very slow," his eyes were "very watery" and he smelled of alcohol. He was taken into custody after failing a series of field sobriety tests.
Turo was released on a $5,000 bond pending his next court date, which is scheduled for Feb. 4.
