NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — Police have identified the victims of a crash in Narragansett over the weekend as two men from South Kingstown.
Officers responded to Mumford Road around 1 a.m. Saturday to find four people inside the one car that was involved.
Andres Naranjo, 26, and Samuel White, 24, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Narragansett police. The two other occupants were hospitalized; one has been released from South County Hospital, while the other remains at Rhode Island Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, but police believe speed was a factor.
"I know it's hit the community hard," Narragansett Detective Lieutenant Ryan Prest said. "A lot of families, the families are grieving. Our thoughts go out to the families of everybody involved, including the first responders who arrived on the scene that night."
