CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — If you love seafood, you should head to Charlestown this weekend.
The Charlestown Seafood Festival kicks off at 12 p.m. Friday at Ninegret Park.
Bringing in an array of seafood, live music and more, the award winning three-day festival has been going on for 39 years.
All weekend long there will be music playing from bands like Take it tot he Bridges, Street Survivors, and the big headliner Dirty Deeds coming on Saturday night.
Amusement rides will also be set up and on Saturday there will be a big fireworks display at 9 p.m.
To finish off the festival, the Rhode Island Street Rodding Association Car Show kicks off at 11 a.m. when the doors open.
Earlier this week, Heather Paliotta, Executive Director of the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce, told 12 News she loves working with so many people to get the festival going.
"The festival is so much fun, the food is unbelievable, this year I have six raw bars and they're all local. One is 401 Oyster Company, Aquidneck Oyster Farm, Bean Family Catering, Blue Rock Catering, the Rhode Island Shell Fisherman, Shuck and Truck," she xplained. "And then we have lobsters, lobster rolls, lobster grilled cheese, and every chowder you can think of."
More information about the festival can be found on their website.
